Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Profia ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application. By using Profia, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
Profia is an independent application developed by I-A.L. ("Developer"). For any privacy-related questions, contact us at [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when using the app:
- Account information: Name, email address, and password — or authentication tokens when signing in with Google or Apple.
- Business data: Client names, phone numbers, emails, birthdays, and notes you enter to manage your clients.
- Appointment data: Scheduling information, services, pricing, and payment records.
- Financial data: Revenue, expenses, and tip information you record in the app.
- Device contacts: With your explicit permission, to help you import clients. We do not store contacts you choose not to import.
We also collect limited technical data automatically:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications
- Device timezone for scheduling notifications correctly
- Anonymous usage analytics via Firebase (crash reports, performance data)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To store and sync your business data across sessions
- To send scheduling notifications (morning summaries, evening reminders)
- To process and verify in-app subscription purchases via RevenueCat
- To provide customer support when you contact us
- To detect and fix technical issues via crash reporting
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers listed below.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore), with servers located in the United States. Security measures include:
- Firestore Security Rules — each user can only access their own data
- Firebase Authentication for secure login
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
6. Guest Mode
Profia allows use without an account ("Guest Mode") via Firebase Anonymous Authentication. Guest data is stored under an anonymous ID. If you uninstall the app or switch devices without converting to a full account, your data will be permanently lost. We recommend creating an account to protect your data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days. You can request account deletion from Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account.
8. Your Rights
- Access — export all your data as CSV from Settings → Data & Privacy → Export
- Correct — edit any information directly in the app
- Delete — delete your account and all data from Settings
- Portability — export your data in machine-readable formats (CSV)

9. Children's Privacy
Profia is designed for business use by adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Profia after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
